August 2017 Messy Church

August 2017 Messy Church concentrated on looking at how we can care for God's creation. Craft activities included making bumble bees, woven fish and flower bracelets. There were lettuce plants to re-pot to take home to grow, and children made plates of playdough food to illustrate which foods can be sourced locally or grown at home, to save fuel  and transport, which pollutes the planet with the exhaust fumes. Our bar-football and air hockey were enthusiastically enjoyed, as were the other games placed around the church. Worship time included looking at fresh veg, fruit and herbs, all grown in our gardens.Songs included 'He's got the whole world in His hands', during which a beach ball 'globe' was passed around. The fun morning concluded with hot-dogs and cake!. Next session of Messy Church will be during half term, on Thursday 26th October 2017.
